Is moringa safe? Heavy metals and lab testing explained

Why plant powders can pick up heavy metals, and how every Baomor batch is checked before it's packed.

It's a fair question. Leafy plants take up minerals from the soil they grow in — including, sometimes, small amounts of heavy metals like lead or cadmium. Drying concentrates whatever is in the leaf, so testing really matters for powders.

What we do

  • Every batch of our powders is tested by an independent lab for heavy metals and contaminants.
  • Processing follows HACCP, a recognised food-safety system that checks for hazards at each step.
  • Our powders are a single ingredient. No fillers, colours or additives that could add their own risks.

How to judge any brand

  • Does it say the product is tested for heavy metals, and by whom?
  • Does it name the country the product comes from? (Ours is Kenya.)
  • Can you contact the company with questions and get a real answer?

Who should check with a doctor first

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a health condition, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before adding new foods like moringa to your diet.
